Here It Goes Theatre Presents Pangea : Edinburgh Preview Review

Absurd Theatre: A form of drama that emphasises the absurdity of human existence by employing disjointed, repetitious, and meaningless dialogue, purposeless and confusing situations, and plots that lack realistic or logical development.

Sounds a lot like the current political climate of the last decade. Here It Goes Theatre really captured the wild and whacky world of politicians and their fight for High Office and the White lies with in democracy.

Pangea looks to explore the absurdity of politics within a modern day society by subverting the usual political context and incorporates elements of “entertainment for entertainment’s sake” in order to explore the pointless aspects and fragility of modern “democracies”. One Mind. There will be pointing, there will be empty statements and there will be no vote. But in doing so, many people make the mistake of characterising one dimensionally by painting these politicians as monsters who feed off of the attention of the masses. However, Here It Goes Theatre flips that narrative on its head and portrays the politicians not only as people who benefit from the system but people who are also slave to it also.

Pangea loses it's clarity somewhere down the line and becomes a blurred tape of jibber jabber but upon reflection I began to think often politics leaves you feeling the same. The further you delve in the less you understand.

Pangea is fun it's exciting and it's down right exuberant from the amazing face makeup (almost clown like) to the costumes/wardrobe.

Pangea will be at Edinburgh Fringe this year!  20-25th August | 10pm | Greenside Venues @ Infirmary Street, Olive Studio and I recommend you watch.
